Brad and Joanna Marks, owners of I W Marks, helped raise funds for the organization’s Champions of Youth Initiative as First Down Sponsors

August 2022, Houston, TX – On Saturday, August 27th, Houston Texan supporters and fans attended Season Premiere, the team’s seasonal kick-off event benefiting the Houston Texans Foundation in their mission to be Champions for Youth. Attendees dined on a world-class meal alongside Texans players, then tested their luck at the Texans Casino. Hosted by players, the Texans Casino proceeds directly supports the Houston Texans Foundation, which, since its founding in 2002, has raised over $41 million for the local community.

I W Marks owners and donors, Brad and Joanna Marks, First Down Event Sponsors, attended the evening alongside other notable contributors such as Amegy Bank, Centerpoint Energy, Houston Methodist, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, and more.

Proceeds from the night contributed to Houston Texans Foundation initiatives that support organizations whose focus centers on strengthening families, preventing abuse, and providing needed services to those who have fallen victim to domestic and sexual abuse. The charity additionally focuses efforts on providing educational and leisure activities for youth through outreach events such as Play Safe and Youth Football Camp.

About the event, Brad Marks said, “It’s always a pleasure for my wife, Joanna, and I, to attend Season Premiere to kick off the new season with an event that supports the local Houston community. This year we were joined by our General Manager Raymond Golden and his wife Brenda; we couldn’t have asked for a better evening to support this incredible city.”

About Houston Texans Foundation

The mission of the Houston Texans Foundation is to be Champions for Youth. Because we believe that youth are the champions of our future, we are dedicated to enhancing their quality of life. Since 2002, more than $41 million has been raised through our annual fundraising events, disaster response programs, our annual United Way campaign, and our partnership with non-profit organizations on Texans gameday. Through our fundraising efforts, we support and administer programs in education, character development, and health and fitness to empower our next generation of Texans.

The Texans Foundation has aligned with three strategic community partners; the Houston Texans YMCA, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston, and the Houston Food Bank. About 75% of our support goes to these three organizations through monetary donations, programming, and volunteerism. The organization is committed to inspiring positive change within the Houston community. To learn more about the Houston Texans Foundation, visit www.houstontexans.com/community/foundation/.
